Recently, the issue of school tuition in the UAE has made headlines again; this came after Chris Feid, a famous radio host, criticized the way his daughter's school sent tuition payment notices. He stated that the tuition for previous terms had been paid, and the issue was not about unpaid fees; rather, it was the tone and manner of the school's communication that upset his family.

Now, many schools in the UAE say they have considered more flexible solutions for families temporarily under financial pressure, ranging from monthly installments to direct and confidential meetings with parents.

The GEMS educational group has announced that schools should focus on the 'mental stability and continued education of students,' and each family will be assessed based on its own circumstances. This group has stated that some families can benefit from monthly payments or internal support programs.

Meanwhile, some other schools have emphasized that parents should talk to the school sooner if they face financial problems to find a common solution.

Schools, of course, say that alongside empathizing with families, they also have heavy costs such as teacher salaries, campus maintenance, and maintaining educational quality, and for this reason, collecting tuition remains an important part of the schools' continued operation.

The Dubai educational regulator has also emphasized that tuition for the period in which educational services were provided must be paid; even if the education was conducted online or through alternative methods.

In practice, what has become more important than ever is not just paying tuition, but the way schools and families communicate during a time when economic pressure on many residents of the UAE has increased.
