The New Book of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Has Been Published
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled his new book titled "Messages"; a book that is the result of nearly 60 years of public service in the UAE.
This book is a continuation of "Lessons from Life" and is a collection of personal messages from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to his brothers, children, grandchildren, work team, the people of the UAE, and anyone who wishes to learn from his experiences for the future.
However, the book does not start with an ordinary letter; the first and most detailed message is a personal letter to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; someone whom His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid refers to as "brother, friend, and companion on this journey".
In this letter, he recounts his decades-long relationship with Mohammed bin Zayed and writes about the legacy of His Highness Sheikh Zayed, the leadership of the President of the UAE, and the responsibility of building the future of the country.
One of the unique sections of the letter is the image of a little girl who goes to school every day with peace of mind, walks in the safe streets of her country, and sees on the school wall that the UAE has reached space. From Mohammed bin Rashid's perspective, the fact that a child can confidently dream about her future is a sign of fulfilling part of the responsibility of leading the country.
He also writes that cities and buildings can be constructed, but more importantly, it is the spirit of a nation; a spirit that unites people, motivates the younger generation, and keeps the country prepared for the future.
His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid further emphasizes that what the current generation has inherited from the past is not a "prize", but a trust that must be added to before being handed over to the next generation. In his view, the goal is not just to create wealth; but to nurture a generation that can create wealth itself and shape the future.
In the end, he writes to His Highness Mohammed bin Zayed that a leader is measured not by the power he holds, but by the responsibility he bears, and emphasizes that the President of the UAE today carries the responsibility for the future of a generation that has not yet had the opportunity to see that future.
