Elon Musk's Company Builds 150 Kilometers of Tunnel Across the UAE
Elon Musk's The Boring Company (TBC) is set to construct over 150 kilometers of tunnel across the country as part of its rapid expansion collaboration with the UAE.
This initiative is backed by a Series D funding round worth $3 billion, equivalent to approximately 11 billion dirhams, led by the UAE and affiliated investment entities.
This funding has raised the valuation of The Boring Company to $23 billion and is based on the company's current collaboration with the UAE on the Dubai Loop project. The company has stated that this new agreement is in addition to the previously awarded Dubai Loop project.
Phase one of the Dubai Loop includes a 6.4-kilometer test route with four stations connecting the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to Dubai Mall.
The four stations are:
- Burj Khalifa
- DIFC 2
- Dubai Mall Zabeel Parking
- ICD Brookfield Place
The company has also announced that phase one will utilize 25,000 pieces, each weighing 4,000 pounds.
