Taco Bell Returns to the UAE After 14 Years

After 14 years, Taco Bell is returning to the UAE; this time with a larger plan to enter the regional market.

Americana Restaurants has announced that it is collaborating with Taco Bell Europe and the UK to bring this brand back to the UAE. The development of branches is set to be done in phases, with the UAE being the first destination, followed by other countries in the region.

Taco Bell previously had branches in several locations in the UAE, including Dubai, but left the UAE market in 2012. Now, the market conditions have changed; over the years, Mexican-inspired foods have gained more fans in the UAE, and brands like Chipotle have also entered the market.

Mohammed Alabbar, Chairman of Americana Restaurants, stated that the UAE, especially Dubai, is the best place to start this return; a city that, according to him, welcomes bold brands and can pave the way for Taco Bell's expansion in the region.

Taco Bell currently has over 9,000 branches worldwide, with more than 1,200 of those outside of America.

The opening date or exact location of the new branches has not yet been announced, but Alabbar's comments suggest that Dubai will likely be Taco Bell's first destination upon its return to the UAE.
