Starlink Activated for UAE Users

Has Starlink been activated for UAE users?

Following the issuance of a 10-year public satellite service license for Starlink by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), residents of the UAE can now pre-order Starlink satellite internet.

This license differs from the 2024 license; at that time, Starlink was only allowed to provide satellite internet in the maritime sector, but the new license covers services for individuals, companies, government entities, as well as maritime and aviation sectors.

According to published information:

Home plan cost: 300 AED per month
 Internet: Unlimited
 Trial period: 30 days
Declared speed: Up to over 400 Mbps
Equipment price: Starting from 1,465 AED
 Includes Router 3 with Wi-Fi 6
At the payment page, an initial payment of approximately 285.71 AED is currently required, which will later be deducted from the kit price.

To pre-order, simply enter your residence location on the official Starlink website, review the service and equipment specifications, and complete the shipping and payment information.

⚠️ Important note: A specific date for the launch of Starlink service in the UAE has not yet been announced, and the company has stated that it cannot currently provide a specific timeline for the activation of services.

Potential Impact for UAE Residents

The launch of Starlink could create a new option, especially for villas, areas with limited access to fiber, businesses, and individuals who need a backup internet; however, until the official activation of the service and the actual quality is determined in various parts of the UAE, it cannot yet be considered a definitive replacement for the current fixed internet.
