Spider-Man really made a splash this summer.

'Spider-Man: New Dawn' starring Tom Holland has reached $923 million at the U.S. box office after six weeks of release, surpassing 'Avengers: Endgame' which grossed $858 million.

The film, which premiered on July 31, is now the second highest-grossing film in U.S. box office history; only 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' with $936.6 million is above it.

'New Dawn' has also performed remarkably at the global box office, grossing around $2.4 billion; a figure that places it above 'Infinity War' with $2.05 billion, but still below 'Endgame' with $2.8 billion.

In comparison to previous Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland, the difference is significant: 'Homecoming' made $881 million, 'Far From Home' made $1.13 billion, and 'No Way Home' made $1.92 billion worldwide.

Now, 'New Dawn' is only $13.6 million away from breaking the domestic box office record of 'Star Wars'; and considering there are no major competitors until the holiday season, this record is likely to be broken soon.

Interestingly, Tom Holland and Zendaya are also starring in Christopher Nolan's 'Odyssey'; a film that has so far grossed $1.63 billion worldwide.
