Sale of over 100,000 Etihad train tickets; Dubai is also being added to the rail network

The Etihad train is becoming one of the serious options for commuting between the emirates. Since the start of trial services between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah in June, over 100,000 tickets have been sold, and demand has increased with the end of the summer holidays.

Passengers speak of the full trains, comfortable travel, and organized stations; a service that has even helped some families in urgent situations.

For example, “Sheema Alhamoodi” from Kalba took the train to Abu Dhabi on the same day to get her five-year-old daughter to a medical appointment at Healthpoint Hospital Abu Dhabi and returned to Kalba. She says the trip went exactly as planned, and facilities and special food for children were provided for her daughter.

Other passengers have praised the quick entry process, staff interactions, comfortable seats, and regular service. One passenger who traveled from Mohammed Bin Zayed City station to Fujairah on August 21 said the journey took about an hour and a half and the train was very comfortable.

However, the high demand is now reflected in a shortage of tickets. Some passengers say the trains are full and finding a ticket is not easy.

Now a bigger event is on the way: the Dubai station will soon be added to the passenger network, and the official launch of the expanded network is scheduled for September 30.

Etihad Rail says that with the addition of the Dubai station, more residents of the UAE will incorporate the train into their daily lives not just for leisure, but for daily commutes, family visits, and intercity travel.
