If your daily route passes through Sheikh Zayed Road, especially from Abu Dhabi towards World Trade Center Dubai, you have good news.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has completed the development of a 2-kilometer section of this road and added a new lane to the route near the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro station.

With this change, the number of lanes has increased from 6 to 7, and the capacity of this section of the road has increased by 17%. More importantly, travel time during peak hours can be reduced by up to 10%.

This project is part of Dubai's broader plan to reduce traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road and improve access to the city's busy areas; a route that daily transports thousands to destinations such as Dubai World Trade Center, Financial Center, Museum of the Future, Al Karama, Al Jafiliya, and Al Mankhool.

This change is also significant during major exhibitions and events at the World Trade Center, as it is expected to smooth traffic between commercial centers and surrounding residential areas.

However, this is not the only recent change in this area.

In the World Trade Center development project, a new two-level bridge, 1 kilometer long, has also recently been opened, which has two lanes and can accommodate up to 3,000 vehicles per hour.

This bridge covers the route from Sheikh Zayed Road towards Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and continues to Al Karama and Deira, and according to RTA, it has reduced the travel time on this route from 6 minutes to just 1 minute.

Overall, these projects are part of Dubai's plan to develop road infrastructure and align the transportation network with the city's population growth and economic activities.
