The "Global 8000" jet manufactured by Bombardier has set a record for the fastest flight over the Atlantic Ocean by a business jet, marking a new milestone in aviation history. On June 5, 2026, it covered the long distance from Montreal in Canada to Nice in France in just over six hours, bringing its special passengers to the Formula One races.

The Global 8000, achieving an astonishing speed of 0.95 Mach and a range of 8,000 nautical miles, has been dubbed the fastest civilian aircraft after the Concorde. In this flight, which transported passengers to watch the Monaco Grand Prix, Eric Martel, the CEO and President of Bombardier, was also present to personally demonstrate the performance of his flagship aircraft to the world. This long-range capability allows customers to travel between the world's most important business and leisure destinations without the need for stops.

The advanced system of this jet is designed to maintain the cabin pressure at the equivalent of a much lower altitude of 2,691 feet (approximately 820 meters) even at a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet (12,500 meters), minimizing physiological pressure on passengers' bodies. This feature, which represents the lowest cabin pressure in the entire commercial aviation manufacturing industry, reduces fatigue from long flights and crossing multiple time zones (and the occurrence of jet lag) to a minimum. 

The Global 8000 features four separate living spaces, a full kitchen, and ergonomic, custom Nuage seating to provide a perfect environment for relaxation, work, and dining.

Bombardier engineers have designed advanced wings that provide performance similar to a light jet for this long-range aircraft. This engineering marvel allows buyers to access more airports and plan their routes with greater flexibility.
