Lost Cat Found at Dubai Airport After 10 Days

10 days of waiting and worry finally came with some hopeful news: Choti, the cat that had gone missing at Dubai International Airport, was found. However, her owner still hasn't been able to hold her again and is now waiting for Choti to be transferred to Sri Lanka.

Aviska Kaumadi announced the news of her cat's discovery on Facebook and thanked SriLankan Airlines, dnata, and the management of Dubai International Airport for their efforts.

The story began on the night of October 11; when Kaumadi took Choti to Dubai Airport for her 11 PM flight to Sri Lanka to be transported as cargo. After checking the documents and completing the administrative procedures, she entered the duty-free section of the airport; but shortly after, an airline staff member reported that Choti had escaped from her box.

Kaumadi wanted to immediately return to find her cat, but she needed permission to re-enter that section. Finally, around midnight, she went to the cargo area with one of the staff and called for Choti for over an hour. The darkness and limited light made the search difficult, and there was no sign of the cat.

She stayed at the airport for about 28 hours and returned the next day to follow up on the matter. At one point, they even showed her another white cat to check if it was Choti; but that cat was not her pet.

Later, Kaumadi returned to Sri Lanka and provided her contact information to the officials so they could contact her if Choti was found. According to her, one of the airport management representatives explained that if the cat was found, it could be transferred to Sri Lanka; even if this process took a few weeks.

Now that Choti has been found, the worry of not knowing has turned into hope; although the time for their reunion is still uncertain.

Kaumadi wrote in her message: "Choti is not just a pet; she is my dear child, my family, and a piece of my heart."

In the end, she wrote to her cat: "Until that day, my heart will continue to wait for you, Choti. Your mom is waiting to welcome you home."

For Kaumadi, finding Choti is not the end of the story. The more important part of the story will be when her cat arrives safely in Sri Lanka, and this 10-day wait will finally lead to a reunion.
