What changes has the winner of the 100 million dirham UAE lottery experienced?
Anilkumar Bolla, the winner of the 100 million dirham UAE lottery, says that the biggest change in his life, one year after his historic win, is not just the money; it is the opportunity he now has to spend more time with his family.
This Indian immigrant residing in Abu Dhabi won the 100 million dirham prize on October 18, 2025, by matching all seven winning numbers in the Lucky Day draw; the largest lottery prize in the UAE at that time. The odds of winning in this draw were about one in 8.8 million.
Anilkumar, who was 29 years old at the time and worked in information technology, has been trying to use this chance over the past year to build a different future; from supporting his family financially and buying property in the UAE and India to traveling and exploring new opportunities to start a business.
However, one of the first things he did after winning was to buy a gift for his mother. He bought her a gold necklace, several rings, and bangles; jewelry that he says were his mother's dreams. His father also received a special gift: agricultural land to pursue his interest in organic farming.
Despite these changes, the family still lives in their old house in India; a house that Anilkumar considers his father's dream.
He says about the most important achievement of this year: “The most important thing is that I spend quality time with my family.”
During this time, Anilkumar has purchased property in the UAE and India while also thinking about long-term investments and starting his own business. He intends to continue building his future in the UAE while maintaining his close connection with India.
Of course, the initial excitement of winning has now diminished, and he says he feels more gratitude for the opportunities he has gained and the experiences he can now have, rather than for the prize itself.
In conclusion, he summarizes his advice to those who win big prizes: “Welcome to the millionaire club! Stay humble and spend your money wisely and orderly.”
