Marwa Ahmed Al-Amin Bakheet, a 36-year-old Sudanese woman residing in the UAE, finally became pregnant with twins after about 12 years of waiting to become a mother; however, on September 23, 2026, during childbirth at a hospital in Ajman, she lost her life due to sudden complications.
Marwa was able to hold her first newborn in her arms, but suffered severe complications during the birth of the second child. According to her husband, doctors reported the occurrence of blood clots in her heart and lungs, and despite multiple resuscitation efforts, they could not save her life.
The two twin boys named Fahd and Fahid are now under the care of their older aunt in Abu Dhabi; a woman who herself has five children and has now taken on the responsibility of caring for seven children.
Marwa had been working at the Dubai Police Health Center since 2016 and was the main provider for her family's living expenses after the death of her parents.
The Dubai Police, which had previously assisted in the transfer of the body, the funeral, and support for the family, has now offered job opportunities to Othman Al-Maki, Marwa's husband, and Maha, her younger sister, to help support the family's living expenses and the future of the twins.
This support continues a close relationship of nearly five decades between Marwa's family and the Dubai Police; a relationship that began in 1979 with the employment of Marwa's father in this institution and has continued through three generations.
