In the UAE, children's use of food ordering and online shopping apps has become a concerning issue for child protection agencies. The 'Child Protection Organization' affiliated with the Sharjah Family and Community Council has warned that unsupervised use of these apps can lead to security risks at home.

This organization emphasized that although delivery and online shopping apps have made family life easier, when children use them without the awareness or presence of parents, they may be exposed to unforeseen situations.

According to this warning, some children place orders for food, toys, or other goods, or they open the door themselves when the delivery person arrives; a situation that can expose them to strangers or unwanted purchases.

'Henadi Saleh Al-Yafai', the director-general of this organization, emphasized that the main issue is not the prohibition of technology, but rather establishing clear and understandable boundaries for children; boundaries that help them understand the responsibility of using digital tools.

This organization has urged parents to supervise online purchases, limit access to banking information and quick payments, and be actively present during order deliveries. Additionally, teaching safe behavior at home, including not opening the door for strangers, has been highlighted as a necessity.

In summary, this warning states: the goal is not to eliminate technology; rather, it is to manage its use at home so that children can grow up in a safer digital environment.
