The UAE's budget for the next three years has been set 8.3% higher than the previous period.
The United Arab Emirates approved its federal three-year budget for the years 2027 to 2029, totaling 292.5 billion dirhams; an amount that is 8.3 percent higher than the previous three-year budget.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced on Monday, October 12, that education, health, housing, social services, quality of life, and citizen stability remain the government's main priorities.
Of this amount, 90.1 billion dirhams has been allocated to the 2027 budget.
How is the 2027 budget divided?
• 34.6 billion dirhams for social development and pension rights; equivalent to 38.4 percent of the budget
• 29.1 billion dirhams for governmental affairs; equivalent to 32.3 percent
• 17.8 billion dirhams for federal expenses; equivalent to 19.7 percent
• 5.6 billion dirhams for financial assets and investments; equivalent to 6.2 percent
• 3 billion dirhams for infrastructure and economic resources; equivalent to 3.4 percent
These figures indicate that social development and pension payments have the largest share in next year's federal budget.
Meanwhile, Dubai also announced last year its three-year budget for 2026 to 2028, with total expenditures of 302.7 billion dirhams and projected revenues of 329.2 billion dirhams; a budget that has a 5 percent operational surplus planned for it.
