The Transformation of Dubai Fountain with New Water Features

The transformation of Dubai Fountain with new water features
The famous fountain in Downtown Dubai is undergoing a transformation with the installation of large silver structures; structures with curved and petal-like designs that pour water into the Burj Khalifa lake, creating a different view next to the tallest building in the world.
Videos shared on social media show that the installation of these structures in the lake, between Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, is still ongoing. Part of the path along the water has also been blocked for work; however, the regular performances of the Dubai Fountain continue.
Emaar had previously announced a plan to enhance this attraction in 2026. The Dubai Fountain reopened in October 2025 after five months of closure for renovations. In the first phase, flooring, insulation, and painting of parts of the complex were carried out.
Emaar also announced the addition of new facilities and improvements to the visitor experience in the next phase; however, it has not yet confirmed whether the new silver structures are part of this plan. The completion time for the installation and the designer of these structures have also not been announced.
This attraction, which opened in 2009, was built in collaboration with Emaar and the American company WET Design, the designer of the famous Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas. Its jets can shoot water up to about 140 meters high, and synchronized performances with Arabic and international music, along with lighting, are among its main features.
According to Emaar's announced schedule, evening performances take place every 30 minutes from 6 PM to 11 PM, with afternoon performances also available.
For now, visitors can watch the regular performances of the fountain while simultaneously witnessing the new look of this famous Dubai attraction.
