The Second Tallest Tower in the World to Open in Dubai in 2028

Dubai is set to set a new record in the sky; Burj Azizi, currently under construction on Sheikh Zayed Road, will be the second tallest building in the world after Burj Khalifa and is expected to house the longest elevator in the world.

This tower, with a height of 2379 feet, equivalent to about 725 meters and more than 130 floors, has an investment value of over 6 billion dirhams. Its location is between Downtown Dubai and the Dubai World Trade Center.

However, the exciting part is not just the height of the tower. Its elevators will be built with UltraRope technology from KONE; lighter cables that allow elevators to move at greater heights with less energy and material consumption.

This elevator will also be equipped with artificial intelligence to reduce waiting times during busy periods. Permanent connectivity and 24/7 monitoring will allow the system to identify potential issues before they cause disruptions.

Burj Azizi is set to be more than just a tall building; it will also feature a seven-star hotel, apartments and penthouses, a vertical shopping mall, an elevated viewing platform, a restaurant, a luxury lounge, a beach club, and an exciting recreational area.

According to the current plan, construction of the tower, which began in 2024, is expected to be completed in 2028. If the project proceeds as planned, this tower will be one of the most significant new changes to Dubai's skyline.
