If you haven't booked your summer trip yet, a few days of flexibility in your schedule could save you a lot of money. According to a recent study by a travel platform, families residing in the UAE can save over 2,000 dirhams on round-trip tickets by choosing the right flight timing.

The study shows that the week starting from August 31 is generally the cheapest time for summer flights. This comes as 47% of Emirati travelers have not yet booked their summer trips and are still looking for better options.

For families traveling with multiple tickets, even shifting the departure time by a week or two can make a significant difference. For example, a round-trip flight to Tokyo in the summer averages around 2,209 dirhams per person, but drops to about 1,686 dirhams in the last week of August; meaning a family of four can save around 2,088 dirhams.

Cairo is also one of the destinations with the most significant price drop. The average price for a round-trip flight to this city is about 1,592 dirhams per person, but in the week starting from August 17, it reaches around 1,105 dirhams, allowing a family of four to spend nearly 1,950 dirhams less.

Among other popular destinations, flights to Kochi, India, become about 1,425 dirhams cheaper for a family of four in the week of August 31. Manila, Philippines, also sees a reduction of about 1,306 dirhams, and Denpasar, Indonesia, about 1,722 dirhams in costs for families.

The platform emphasizes that there is no single cheap time for all destinations, and prices vary based on route, demand, and week of travel. Additionally, while many travelers believe July is the cheapest month to fly, data shows that choosing the right week in August can create more economical options.

Experts from the platform suggest that travelers compare prices across different weeks before purchasing tickets and utilize monthly search options; as a small change in travel dates can leave more budget for hotels, entertainment, and travel experiences.
