Aisha Amir, a 27-year-old resident of Dubai from the state of Kerala, India, has been announced as the first winner of a free apartment by Binghatti.

The luxury real estate company Binghatti will award around 12 apartments to lucky winners as part of the "Win Your Home in Dubai" initiative.

This raffle is organized by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DFRE) and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. Shoppers at selected stores and centers in Dubai can participate in this contest by purchasing a minimum of 500 dirhams, scanning a QR code, and registering their purchase receipt.

Aisha Amir, the first weekly winner of this initiative, said she stumbled upon the contest while shopping with her husband. Her husband encouraged her to register for the raffle after seeing multiple advertisements in the mall and on social media.

She told the Gulf Times:

“I filled out the form and then on Friday, they called me and said I had won this house. At first, I thought it was some kind of scam, but then they sent me an email with all the details.”

Aisha, who got married last year, explained that she and her husband had previously intended to buy an apartment, but postponed the decision due to regional tensions and conflicts earlier this year.

She added:

“I really never thought I would win something like this. You always see other people winning prizes and you feel happy for them, but you think something like that won’t happen to you. When it happens to you, you realize that sometimes you’re just lucky, and Dubai offers such opportunities.”

Mohammad Faras Arikat, head of the Retail Calendar and Promotional Campaigns at DFRE, announced that around 100 brands and over 4000 stores are participating in this initiative.

He said:

“The mechanism for participating in the raffle is very simple; just spend 500 dirhams, scan the QR code, upload your receipt, and you enter the raffle.”

This raffle continues until August 30, and the winner of the twelfth and final apartment will be announced at the end of this period.
