Dubai aims to make medical travel easier for foreign patients than ever before.

According to a new agreement signed between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and the Dubai Health Authority, a "Smart Medical Visa" and a range of integrated services are set to be developed for individuals traveling to the UAE for treatment.

The goal of this project is not just visa issuance; Dubai wants to connect the entire treatment journey. This means that from the time the patient is still in their home country and planning their trip, to their arrival in Dubai, receiving medical services, accommodation, and even post-treatment follow-ups, everything will be coordinated within a single system.

This initiative is part of Dubai's efforts to strengthen its position as one of the most important medical tourism destinations in the region; a city that now wants to design the experience for foreign patients to be as fast and hassle-free as its hotels and airports.
