Sharjah redesigns the city's busy routes with a 140 million dirham project.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has approved a 140 million dirham project that aims to connect 'Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street' to 'Maliha Road'; a project whose main goal is to ease traffic and shorten travel time in one of the busiest areas of the city.

According to the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, this new bridge will have three lanes and will simplify the movement of vehicles from Maliha Road towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Bridge.

The important point here is that officials say that after the completion of the project, travel time in this area will be reduced by about 9 minutes; a figure that is not insignificant for drivers who commute daily in Sharjah's traffic.

Construction operations for this project will begin immediately and it is expected to take about a year to complete.
