A driver whose vehicle fell into Sharjah Creek on Thursday morning was rescued in a swift operation by the Sharjah Civil Defense marine rescue teams.

Members of the marine rescue unit, during their routine morning patrol, noticed that a vehicle had fallen into the water in front of the courthouse.

This incident occurred around 7:04 AM on May 14. Rescue forces immediately moved to the scene and began urgent rescue operations. Rescuers dove into the creek, reached the vehicle, and pulled the driver out before the situation turned fatal.

The driver was handed over to the National Ambulance forces at the scene, and officials reported that after receiving necessary medical care, his condition is good.

Brigadier General Youssef Obaid Haramul Al Shamsi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defense, stated that this operation demonstrates the high level of preparedness and professionalism of the field forces of this authority.

He added: “Speed of action is the main factor in saving lives during emergencies, especially in cases that require immediate intervention. Continuous training of rescue teams and their round-the-clock readiness enable them to effectively handle various emergency situations and protect the lives of community members.”

He also emphasized that Sharjah Civil Defense remains committed to strengthening the emergency response system, enhancing field readiness, and equipping specialized teams to reach incident sites more quickly.

This rescue operation also highlighted the importance of marine patrols in addressing incidents near waterways, where every minute can be the difference between life and death.
