Dubai International Airport, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, has launched a new service called “Smart Gates PreCheck.”

With this service, incoming and outgoing passengers can check in seconds whether they are eligible to use the smart gates before reaching the passport control area or if they need to go to the regular counters.

📱 To check, simply:

1. Access the site dxb.pocketflights.com on your mobile.
2. Select the “Smart Gates PreCheck” option.
3. Scan the photo page of your passport with your mobile camera.
4. Your eligibility result will be displayed immediately.
 

There is no need to download an app, and the QR codes for this service are also located in the terminals and gates of Dubai Airport.

Eligible individuals can go directly to the smart gate, stand on the designated spot, remove their glasses or face coverings, look at the green light, and pass through passport control in a few seconds.

The smart gates are available for various groups, including UAE citizens and GCC countries, UAE residence holders, some visa-on-arrival travelers, Schengen visa holders, and pre-issued visa holders; however, it is advisable to check your status with the new tool before traveling.

This feature can help travelers pass through passport control faster during busy summer days and avoid queues.
