Received an emergency alert? Dubai explains what to do next.

 

The Dubai Media Office, in collaboration with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and the Dubai Resilience Centre, has published an official safety guide to inform you about the actions to take if you receive an official alert from the Ministry of Interior (MOI).

 

This guide primarily emphasizes:

«Stay calm. There is no need to panic.»

 

If you are inside a building (home or workplace)

 

- Stay away from open spaces

 

- Move away from balconies and windows

 

- Go to the interior sections of the building

 

- Follow the instructions

 

- Listen to building announcements or security directives

 

- Do not use the elevator unless instructed

 

- Stay away from glass and glass surfaces

 

- Wait for a message indicating «normal status»

 

- Stay in place until you receive an «All Clear» notification via mobile (MOI)

 

- Then calmly return to normal activities

 

 

If you are outdoors:

 

- Quickly enter an indoor space

 

- Enter the nearest building

 

- If you are driving, park in a safe location, exit the vehicle, and seek shelter in a safe place

 

- Stay away from open spaces

 

- Move away from windows and balconies

 

- Do not stand near external walls or glass

 

 

Important recommendation:

 

This guide urges residents and visitors to:

 

- Follow only official and verified information

 

- Avoid sharing unverified messages, sounds, or videos

 

 

The Dubai Police have also issued an official statement for safety.

 

In a post published on platform X, it stated:

 

«Your safety is a priority…

Do not approach, touch, or take pictures of debris or objects that may have fallen due to aerial interceptions. Leave the handling of these matters to the relevant authorities. By adhering to these guidelines, you protect yourself and contribute to community safety.»

 

It also added:

 

«Some of these objects may appear harmless, but interacting with them can pose safety risks.»
