Opening of the New Al Qudra Road Bridge in Dubai; 55% Reduction in Waiting Time

The Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) has inaugurated a new 600-meter bridge at the intersection of Al Qudra Road with the connecting road to Arabian Ranches and Dubai Studio City. This bridge is part of the Al Qudra Road intersection development project, which plays a key role in improving traffic flow and reducing congestion for thousands of daily drivers.

The four-lane bridge in each direction has increased road capacity by 191%, raising it from 6,600 vehicles per hour to 19,200 vehicles per hour. Waiting time at this intersection has also decreased by 55%, from 113 seconds to 52 seconds. This project has been implemented under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The northern bridge (left side), measuring 700 meters, will be inaugurated on February 15 at the intersection of Al Qudra Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. This bridge has two lanes in each direction and will remain operational until the southern bridge (right side) is completed, directing traffic on Al Qudra Road towards Al Qudra City and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of RTA, announced that the Al Qudra Road development project includes upgrading several key intersections, constructing bridges totaling 2,700 meters, and expanding the existing road over a length of 11.6 kilometers. This project reduces travel time by 70%, from 9.4 minutes to 2.8 minutes, serving approximately 400,000 residents and visitors of the residential and developed areas.

Al Qudra Road is one of the key projects for enhancing the east-west corridors of Dubai, extending from the intersection of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to the Emirates Road. This project serves important developed areas such as Arabian Ranches 1 and 2, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, Damac Hills, Mudon, and Sustainable City, enhancing road safety, urban growth, and economic activity in these areas.
