Opening of a New Tourist Destination in Dubai; Al Layan Oasis with Open-Air Cinema and Lake

The Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced the opening of a new tourist destination, «Al Layan Oasis», which will be built on 10 million square feet of desert space in Dubai. This new project is designed to provide a unique experience of desert tourism.

Al Layan Oasis features a lake covering an area of 2.5 million square feet, recreational facilities, sports trails, camping areas, and unique desert tourism experiences. This rural tourist destination is divided into four main sections: Hub Park, Family Park, Canyon Park, and Trailer Park.

Al Layan Oasis is located about 50 minutes from downtown Dubai and serves as a key stop on the Dubai caravan route. This complex includes four oases with different facilities, each targeting a specific segment of visitors.

The camping oasis has 100 caravan sites and a fully equipped visitor center. The gathering oasis includes an open-air cinema, amphitheater, outdoor theater, and food truck plaza. The family oasis has 28 relaxation areas, children's play spaces, and integrated facilities, while the recreational oasis offers a wide range of activities, shops, and services in a sustainable natural environment.

This tourist destination is expected to attract 330,000 visitors annually. Al Layan Oasis has 1,000 parking spaces, 14 kilometers of walking and cycling paths, with 4 kilometers elevated 5 meters above ground level, providing a panoramic view of the oasis.

This project is part of a package worth 4 billion dirhams and is being implemented within the framework of Dubai's blue and green roadmap. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that Dubai's urban development is driven by a commitment to creating a sustainable environment and the highest quality of life for its people. The Dubai Municipality has also provided about 365,000 square meters of investment opportunities for the private sector in this project.
