The Ministry of Health and Prevention of the UAE (MoHAP) announced that no cases of Ebola have been identified in the country so far. This statement came after reports emerged about a traveler whose test result for the Ebola virus was positive after leaving the UAE.

The ministry emphasized that the UAE continues to maintain a high level of readiness and health monitoring, and responsible authorities are continuously monitoring global developments related to infectious diseases.

The Ministry of Health stated that this case involved a traveler who had previously visited the UAE, but a few days after leaving the country and upon entering Uganda, their test result for Ebola turned out positive.

The Ministry of Health also announced that this individual did not visit any medical or health center during their stay in the UAE.

UAE officials added that they are in close and continuous contact with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international health bodies to closely monitor the situation and assess any potential risks.

As part of the UAE's public health response system, necessary preventive measures have been activated from the very beginning. These measures include risk assessment, tracing potential contacts, and implementing preventive protocols as approved in accordance with national guidelines and international health standards.

The Ministry of Health reiterated:

“No cases of Ebola have been registered in the UAE.”

The ministry also reminded that the country has robust disease monitoring systems and is fully prepared to address health threats.
