The legendary jacket worn by Michael Jackson in the music video Thriller, which had previously sold for $1.8 million, will be auctioned in Abu Dhabi this time.

The "Michael Jackson: The Fashion Legacy Evening Auction" will take place from December 7 to 9, 2026, at the Rosewood Hotel in Abu Dhabi, featuring over 100 pieces of clothing and memorabilia from this music star.

Among these items, four pieces from 1983 have particularly caught the attention of collectors.

The most significant of these is the black and red leather jacket worn by Michael Jackson in the music video Thriller; a costume for which only two samples were made for filming. The version being auctioned has Jackson's signature on the sleeve.

This jacket was sold in 2011 through Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills for $1.8 million and, according to Guinness World Records, holds the title of the most expensive jacket ever sold at auction. Now, 15 years later, this memorabilia is returning to the market.

The famous rhinestone glove of Jackson is also another star of this auction. He wore this glove during his performance of Billie Jean on the television show Motown 25 in 1983; the same performance that introduced the famous moonwalk to millions of viewers.

This glove was sold in 2009 for $430,000, and the auction organizers have estimated its value this time between $600,000 and $800,000.

Two pairs of black shoes belonging to Jackson are also among the highlighted items: one pair worn during the historic Motown 25 performance and the other used in the music video Thriller.

This auction is part of the "Celebrity & Pop Culture Experience" event taking place from December 7 to 9 in Abu Dhabi.
