An Indian citizen residing in Bahrain, who won the grand prize of 20 million dirhams in the 'Big Ticket Abu Dhabi' raffle, says he intends to help his close friend who has been in a coma for three months before thinking about buying a house, a car, or any luxuries.

Krisnakumar Ravindran, the lucky winner of this round, announced that his friend suffered severe brain damage after falling down the stairs in Bahrain and has been hospitalized in one of the country's medical centers for three months. He hopes to use part of his prize to transfer his friend to India and cover his medical expenses.

Ravindran told the Gulf Times:

“The first thing that came to my mind after winning was to help my friend. I haven't even thought about buying something for myself yet.”

He explained that he has been close friends with this person for years, and seeing his condition in recent months has been very difficult and distressing for him.

The 20 million dirham 'Big Ticket' winner also mentioned that he has been regularly participating in this raffle since 2019, purchasing two to three tickets each month. This time, however, luck was on his side, and ticket number 339729 won the grand prize.

Interestingly, when the results were announced, the organizers were unable to contact him because his Bahrain number was off, and he was in the UAE at the time of the draw. He eventually received the news of his win via WhatsApp.

Ravindran, who purchased the winning ticket with his sister, said the prize money will be equally divided between them.

Despite receiving this substantial prize, he emphasized that his main concern right now is helping his friend and ensuring he receives the best possible medical care.

He concluded by saying:

“I want to transfer him to India and make sure he gets the best treatment possible.”
