The construction of Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia is progressing rapidly, and the project has now reached a height of 430 meters and 106 floors; which is more than half of the 828-meter height of Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

This tower, when completed, is expected to exceed a height of 1,000 meters and is currently on track to become the tallest building in the world.

The head of the construction company announced after visiting the project site that the tower has reached a height of 430 meters and construction operations are still ongoing. The company has also confirmed in its quarterly financial report that the project has reached 106 floors.

Currently, more than 300,000 cubic meters of concrete have been used in the project, and about 6,400 workers are active at the construction site.

Jeddah Tower is ultimately expected to have a total built-up area of approximately 530,000 square meters and will be equipped with 59 elevators, including five double-decker elevators. The observatory elevators will also move at a speed of 10 meters per second.

However, the path of this tower has not always been uninterrupted. The project began in 2013 but faced several delays due to economic and political issues, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interestingly, the design of both Jeddah Tower and Burj Khalifa was done by the American architectural firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture.

If Jeddah Tower is completed as planned, its height of 1,000 meters will surpass the record of Burj Khalifa, making Saudi Arabia the owner of the tallest building in the world.
