Issuance of Food Sales and Display Permits for Ramadan in Sharjah with Costs up to 3,000 AED
The Sharjah Municipality has started issuing special permits for food sales and displays for Ramadan from this week. These permits are dedicated to restaurants and grocery stores across the Emirate of Sharjah and include various activities throughout the month of Ramadan.
Permit One: Food Preparation and Sales (3,000 AED)
This permit includes the preparation and cooking of food during the day and displaying food in front of stores and inside shopping centers before Maghrib prayer. The rules of this permit are as follows:
- Customer reception in the restaurant hall is not allowed
- Food preparation and cooking is only permitted in the kitchen
Permit Two: Food Display Before Iftar (500 AED)
This permit is specifically for restaurants, cafes, pastry shops, and bakeries. The regulations for this permit include:
- Foods must be displayed on the sidewalk in front of the store (non-sandy)
- Use of stainless steel containers is mandatory
- Foods must be placed in a closed glass display with a minimum height of 100 centimeters and equipped with sliding or hinged doors
- Foods must be covered and packaged with food-grade materials (aluminum foil or clear plastic)
- Foods must be kept at an appropriate temperature (neither refrigerated nor frozen)
- Foods must be prepared at a location with a valid license
Applicants for these Ramadan permits must apply through the Commercial Establishment Permit service on the Sharjah Municipality website.
