Increased demand and supply constraints cause prices of some televisions in the UAE to rise by 5 to 10 percent.

With less than a few weeks until the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, many residents of the UAE are already preparing their homes to watch the matches. The result of this excitement has been a significant increase in the sales of large televisions in the UAE market.

Large stores and online platforms report that demand for televisions 75 inches and larger has increased by over 40 percent compared to last year. This buying wave is not limited to football fans; cafes, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues are also upgrading their displays to host customers during the matches.

According to market participants, the most popular models are in the range of 75 to 98 inches, but televisions of 100 and even 115 inches have also gained more attention than before. The reduction in the price gap between large televisions and mid-range models is one of the main reasons for this increased demand.

Brands like Samsung, TCL, LG, and Hisense have experienced the highest reception in this sector. Sellers say that many families are looking for an experience closer to the stadium atmosphere, and watching the matches has turned into a family and social gathering.

Alongside the increase in demand, prices have also been affected. Market participants report an increase of about 5 to 10 percent in the prices of some televisions; an increase that, in addition to high demand, is related to the global shortage of components, supply constraints, and rising production and transportation costs.

However, sellers expect that with the upcoming Eid al-Adha purchases and the approach of the World Cup, the market will remain vibrant, and more discounts and special offers will be available for buyers.
