Implementation of New Parking Regulations in 3 Shopping Malls in Dubai Including Dubai Mall
The Parking Company has announced that it will implement parking regulations in three major shopping malls in Dubai and will record violations. These malls include Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, and Marina Mall Dubai.
This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with Emaar Properties and aims to improve parking order, reduce traffic, and optimize the use of parking spaces.
The main focus of this plan is to protect designated spots for "determined individuals" so that only authorized persons can use these spaces.
Parking utilizes Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, which connects to Emaar's existing infrastructure.
The workflow is as follows:
• As soon as a vehicle is parked in the designated spot, the vehicle's plate is scanned
• The system uses artificial intelligence to check if a valid permit exists
• If no permit is found, the violation is sent to the control center
• After review, a fine may be issued
To prevent unwanted fines, a short grace period has been established so that drivers can move their vehicles in case of an error.
In addition to cameras, field inspectors will also be present in these three malls to ensure full enforcement of Dubai's parking regulations.
This initiative is part of Dubai's move towards broader use of artificial intelligence in urban management and improving citizen experience.
