Drivers who have faced heavy fuel costs in recent months will pay less starting from July 1.
The UAE announced fuel prices for July 2026, and after four consecutive months of increases, the rates for gasoline and diesel will decrease. The new prices will take effect from July 1.
According to the new rates, Super 98 gasoline will be offered at 3.40 dirhams per liter, while this figure was 3.95 dirhams in June.
Special 95 gasoline has also decreased from 3.83 dirhams to 3.29 dirhams per liter, and the price of E-plus 91 gasoline has dropped from 3.76 dirhams to 3.21 dirhams.
The largest price drop is for diesel, which has decreased from 4.33 dirhams to 3.60 dirhams per liter; that is 73 fils cheaper than last month.
Fuel prices in the UAE had increased by more than 60 percent since the onset of regional tensions and concerns about tanker traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, putting significant pressure on household budgets and daily commuting costs.
However, with the global drop in oil prices throughout June, it was expected that the UAE fuel market would also react, and now this expectation has become a reality.
While a few tens of fils decrease in the price per liter may not seem significant at first glance, for UAE residents who drive daily from home to work, this change will be quite noticeable at the end of the month when calculating expenses.
