Ferrari World Abu Dhabi breaks the world speed record for roller coasters.

Abu Dhabi has once again shown that when it comes to 'speed' and 'records', it usually tops the list.

This time, it’s Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s turn; a park on Yas Island that houses one of the most famous roller coasters in the world. A coaster named Formula Rossa, which has now officially entered the Guinness World Records.

This coaster has achieved the title of the fastest launch acceleration in the world; meaning from a standstill to a speed of 240 kilometers per hour in just 4.9 seconds. A figure that may be understandable on paper, but in reality, it feels more like an experience where the body doesn’t have time to process before the mind catches up.

At a ceremony in the park, this record was officially confirmed and the certificate was awarded to the managers of Ferrari World; a symbolic moment for an attraction that has long been one of the main faces of Yas Island.

Formula Rossa is not something new; it has been recognized for years as one of the thrilling experiences in amusement parks around the world. However, this record has now brought it back into the global spotlight.

The design of this coaster is inspired by the start of Formula One races; a brief pause… and then a full launch. No warming up, no preamble. Just speed.

This combination of engineering precision and raw adrenaline has made Formula Rossa one of those experiences that many try once, say they will never do it again, and then are seen back in line for it.
