Elon Musk believes that the world will enter a period in less than 10 years where artificial intelligence will be beyond human control, completely changing the way we live, the economy, and the job market.

In an interview with The Economist, he predicted that by around 2031, the capabilities of artificial intelligence will surpass the combined intelligence of all humans. According to Musk, at that time, humanoid robots and AI systems will be able to produce almost any goods and services at a very low cost; an event that he believes will eliminate resource shortages and money will no longer play a decisive role in people's lives as it does today.

Musk says that in such a future, working will no longer be a necessity, and if people continue in a job, it will be more out of interest and for personal satisfaction rather than to cover living expenses.

However, he does not see this future as without risks. Musk has warned that if the development of artificial intelligence is not properly managed, humans may lose control over this technology. He estimates the likelihood of a positive scenario at about 80 percent and the likelihood of dangerous consequences at about 20 percent; a matter that, according to him, emphasizes the need for serious attention to safety and oversight in the development of artificial intelligence.
