Eid al-Adha 2026; Will Residents of the UAE Have 6 Days Off?

Astronomical predictions indicate that the Eid al-Adha holidays in 2026 in the UAE could be one of the longest holidays of the year.

According to Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Eid al-Adha is expected to begin on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, with Arafah Day falling on Tuesday, May 26. However, these dates are still subject to the official sighting of the moon.

In the UAE, Arafah Day is considered an official holiday, followed by three days of Eid al-Adha. Thus, if the predictions are confirmed, the holidays will last from Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, May 29. Including the weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday, residents of the UAE could have a total of 6 days off.

The UAE Ministry of Education has also announced that the third-term midterm holidays will coincide with the Eid al-Adha holidays.

School holiday dates:

From Monday, May 25, to Friday, May 29

These holidays apply to students, teachers, and administrative staff of schools, and with the two weekends included, their total holidays will reach 9 days.

How to take 9 days off?

Since Arafah Day is Tuesday, May 26, employees who take leave only on Monday, May 25, can have a total of 9 consecutive days off from Saturday, May 23, to Sunday, May 31.
