Dubai Records New Tourism Milestone with 19.59 Million Visitors in 2025

Dubai hosted 19.59 million international tourists in 2025, marking a 5% increase compared to the previous year. This statistic marks the third consecutive year that Dubai has set a new record in the tourism industry, strengthening its position as one of the world's top destinations. According to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the emirate welcomed over 2 million tourists in December for the first time in a single month, indicating a strong momentum heading into 2026.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, stated that this achievement reflects the strategic vision of Dubai's leadership and the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. He emphasized that Dubai's performance is the result of global connectivity, investment in infrastructure, and the provision of diverse and high-quality experiences for tourists. The hospitality and tourism sector was one of the top sectors for foreign direct investment in Dubai in the first half of 2025.

Western Europe, with 4.1 million tourists, was the largest source market for Dubai's tourism. GCC countries and the Middle East and North Africa region collectively accounted for 26% of tourists, while Commonwealth of Independent States countries and Eastern Europe and South Asia each attracted 15% of tourists to Dubai. The growth in tourist numbers reflects the diversity of target markets and the global appeal of the emirate.

The hospitality sector in Dubai also experienced significant growth. By the end of December, the number of hotel rooms in Dubai reached over 154,000 across 827 hotels, placing Dubai among the largest hotel markets in the world. The average hotel occupancy rate increased from 78.2% to 80.7%, and the average nightly rate for rooms grew by 8%, reaching 579 dirhams. The opening of the world's tallest hotel, Silo Dubai Marina, and luxury hotels from brands like Jumeirah, Mandarin Oriental, and IHG contributed to the growth of this sector.

Dubai received multiple global accolades in 2025. The city was recognized as the first autism-certified tourism destination in the Eastern Hemisphere and ranked among the safest cities in the world. Additionally, Dubai International Airport retained its title as the world's busiest airport for international passengers for the eleventh consecutive year. Major events such as the Dubai Shopping Festival and the Dubai Fitness Challenge with 3 million participants continued to play a vital role in attracting tourists. Dubai has planned significant infrastructure advancements for 2026, including the expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport and the Dubai Metro Blue Line.
