Dubai Police Seizes Hundreds of Violating Scooters and Bicycles
Dubai Police seized 408 electric scooters, electric bicycles, and bicycles for violating traffic laws during a safety initiative in the Gold Souk area. This operation was carried out by Naif Police Station in collaboration with the Dubai Police General Traffic Department. During this operation, 300 electric scooters, 50 electric bicycles, and 58 bicycles were seized, and legal actions were taken against the violators. The main goal of this initiative was to increase compliance with laws and reduce the risk of accidents and injuries for users of two-wheeled vehicles and other road users. Alongside dealing with violators, the police also focused on education. A total of 932 people participated in awareness programs, and safety equipment and supplies were distributed among some workers in the area. Brigadier Omar Mousa Ashour, the director of Naif Police Station, urged scooter and bicycle users to only use designated paths, have appropriate protective gear, and adhere to safety regulations. According to the police, riding scooters and bicycles on unauthorized paths can confuse drivers and increase the likelihood of accidents. The police also emphasized the continuation of educational and informational programs to encourage all road users to behave more safely. Source: Gulf Times
