Sometimes a few months of delayed rent payments can put a family into a cycle of debt, legal disputes, and financial stress. Now, Dubai has allocated a support budget of one million dirhams to assist residents who find themselves in such situations.

The Dubai Rental Dispute Center (RDC) has announced that with the one million dirham assistance from the Dar Al Ber charitable society, the scope of support for tenants who are unable to pay rent due to financial difficulties will be expanded. This assistance will be distributed to eligible individuals through the 'Yad Al Khair' committee; individuals who are facing rental debt or housing-related cases due to challenging economic conditions.

Applicants for this support will be assessed based on family status, amount of debt, income level, rental payment history, and submitted documents to ensure that assistance reaches those in greatest need.

Dubai officials state that this initiative is part of a collaboration between judicial and charitable entities to alleviate financial pressure on vulnerable residents and strengthen family stability in the emirate. This action is also in line with the goals of the 'Year of Family 2026' in the UAE; a program focused on supporting families and enhancing social cohesion.

According to officials from the 'Yad Al Khair' committee, the new budget allows for support to a greater number of tenants, and all assistance will be provided within the framework of legal regulations while safeguarding the rights of all parties involved.
