"Robots need clothes too"; humanoids on the fashion catwalk in Seoul

In a unique and futuristic fashion show in Seoul, there were no naked robots; where human models and their humanoid robot counterparts took to the stage in coordinated outfits.

Among the designs showcased was a blue tassel set in the style of Texas cowboys — complete with a special cowboy hat for the robot — as well as a puffy silver jacket with a retro vibe.

Each human model walked in sync on stage with their short android counterpart.

The outfits, ranging from silk shirts to loose black pants with a space-age design — similar to the clothes David Bowie wore in the 1970s — were meticulously tailored to fit the robots' metal skeletons.

Galaxy Corporation, the organizer of this event, announced that the purpose of the show was to pose the question: "How can humans and robots coexist?"

Choi Young-ho, the CEO of the company, stated:

"We realized that robots also need to wear clothes. Just as every human has their unique characteristics, we believe every robot should have its own identity and appearance."

These outfits were designed by the company itself, and a spokesperson announced that they are set to hit the market by the end of the year under the brand name "MACH 33."

The robots present at this Seoul fashion show were apparently humanoids made by the Chinese startup Unitree; robots that have gained significant popularity due to their relatively low price.

Today's advanced robots have been able to showcase capabilities such as performing synchronized dances, participating in competitions, and even doing backflips.

Financial services company Morgan Stanley has predicted that by 2050, there will be over a billion humanoid robots in the world.

However, fully autonomous robots that utilize the emerging technology of "physical artificial intelligence" are still rare, and many of the impressive displays currently are either remotely controlled or pre-programmed.
