If you are an urban planner, student, designer, or active in the field of artificial intelligence, you now have the opportunity to redesign Al Safa Park 2 with the help of AI and win the grand prize of the new smart park design challenge in Dubai.

On June 25, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, unveiled three new projects for the city: Falcon Market, the Dubai Creek lighting project, and a public park designed with artificial intelligence. These three projects aim to enhance urban services and develop new infrastructure.

In line with this vision, the Dubai Municipality launched the AI Park Design Challenge on Sunday (June 28). This competition invites designers, urban planners, students, researchers, startups, and innovators in the field of artificial intelligence to submit their designs for the reimagining of Al Safa Park 2 using AI and modern technologies.

The total prize pool for this competition is 200,000 AED.

Participants are required to use AI at all stages of design, including:

Project site analysis

Examining how people use the space

Generating initial ideas

Testing various scenarios

Refining and completing the final design

Officials believe this approach will accelerate innovation, enhance design quality, and create public spaces that better meet the needs of residents.

The Dubai Municipality will recognize the top ideas and give winners the opportunity to turn their innovative concepts into real projects.

The competition prizes are as follows:

First place: 100,000 AED

Second place: 65,000 AED

Third place: 35,000 AED

This competition aims to attract active individuals at the intersection of design, artificial intelligence, and innovation in the fields of urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, and public space design.

Eligible groups include:

Architects, urban planners, and landscape designers

Undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students as well as researchers

Startups active in design and artificial intelligence technologies

Innovators in AI and technology developing tools for urban environments

Registration and submission of works will continue through the Dubai Municipality website until August 15.

Participants must submit a comprehensive Master Plan that includes:

Data analysis

Visual images and renderings

Maps and technical drawings

Human-centered design approach

Practical and sustainable solutions

Participants must demonstrate how AI has been used in the design process.
