Crescent of the End of Ramadan Observed in the UAE

 

The International Astronomy Center confirmed that the crescent marking the end of Ramadan 1447 AH was photographed from Abu Dhabi by the 'Khatm' astronomical observatory, which is affiliated with this center.

 

This image was captured on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM UAE time; at a time when the angular distance of the moon from the sun was 9.2 degrees and the moon's age was reported to be negative 15 hours and 23 minutes.

 

The observatory team included Anas Mohammed, Osama Ghanem, and Khalfan Al-Nuaimi, and the photography of this event was conducted by Mohammed Awda.
