By the order of Sheikh Mohammed, the Orchestra Foundation will be established.
Dubai has taken a new step towards the development of the music industry, supporting local artists, and enhancing cultural tourism with the establishment of the Orchestra Foundation.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued Law No. 20 of 2026 for the establishment of this foundation.
This foundation is set to form a local orchestra, support emerging musical talents including individuals with disabilities, and expand opportunities for music education and production. Preserving the musical heritage of the UAE, promoting local music, and developing the infrastructure of this industry are also among its goals.
Holding annual events, hosting international orchestras, and collaborating with cultural institutions both inside and outside the country will be other programs of the foundation. This entity is also looking to encourage investment in the field of music and performing arts.
The aim of this initiative is to strengthen Dubai's position as an international cultural destination and assist in the growth of the creative economy and cultural tourism. Government entities in Dubai are also required to support the activities of the foundation within the framework of relevant regulations.
This law will come into effect from the date of publication in the official newspaper of Dubai.
