Apple has announced the date for its next big event: September 9. An event where the new generation of iPhone is set to be introduced, and we may finally witness the unveiling of Apple's first foldable iPhone.

If the rumors are true, this product will represent one of the most significant changes to the iPhone in recent years. Analysts expect the foldable iPhone to have a display size similar to that of the iPad Mini and, by entering the premium product category, it will help increase Apple's revenue and profit margins.

This event has another important occurrence; Jon Ternus, the veteran head of Apple's hardware division, will take over from Tim Cook as CEO starting September 1, and this will be his first major event as CEO.
