As the Eid al-Adha holidays approach in 2026, the Dubai Police have urged residents to refrain from buying, selling, and using unauthorized fireworks; an action that not only poses serious risks to public health and safety but can also lead to heavy fines and even imprisonment.

According to the police, many individuals consider fireworks to be a harmless entertainment, but these devices can cause fires, property damage, and permanent physical injuries in just a few seconds. Severe burns, amputations, or loss of physical abilities are among the consequences that are reported each year due to the improper use of these materials.

Officials have emphasized that under UAE federal law, any import, export, production, or sale of fireworks without official permission is considered a crime. Offenders may face a minimum of one year in prison and a fine of at least 100,000 Dirhams.

As preparations for Eid begin, field inspections have also increased across Dubai. The Dubai Municipality has announced that inspection teams are present around the clock at land, sea, and air entry points, as well as in restaurants and food outlets to ensure compliance with safety and health standards.

The scope of these inspections is not limited to the food sector. Hotels, salons, beauty parlors, glass cafes, and accommodation centers are also under scrutiny, with continuous checks on water quality, indoor air, environmental hygiene, and pool safety.

The municipality has also announced the launch of a special control plan for henna products in women's salons; these products are tested in laboratories for allergens or harmful substances before being offered.

In addition to these measures, inspections of toy stores, cosmetics, perfumes, and electrical equipment have also intensified to ensure that all goods comply with the safety standards approved by the UAE.

On the eve of one of the busiest holidays of the year, the main message from officials is clear: adhering to the laws and avoiding the use of unauthorized fireworks is the simplest way to have a safe and incident-free celebration.
