The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai announced that the "Bus Demand" service has been expanded to 4 new areas including Al Qusais, JVC, Al Warqa, and DIP.

This expansion follows a 136% growth in users in 2025; the number of passengers increased from 417,000 the previous year to 984,000, with over 567,000 new trips recorded.

The Bus Demand service is now active in 17 areas of Dubai with 49 minibuses and is designed to better connect residential neighborhoods to the metro, bus stations, and commercial centers.

This service operates through the Dubai Bus-On-Demand app, allowing users to book shared trips between specified points. Unlike traditional buses, routes are adjusted based on real-time demand to reduce waiting times.

The cost of each trip is 5 dirhams, and for additional passengers, it is 4 dirhams. Additionally, free promotional trips are offered in the initial phase of development.

The RTA stated that the aim of this plan is to develop smart and sustainable transportation, reduce the use of personal vehicles, and improve connectivity to Dubai's metro and bus network. More areas will also be added to this service in later stages.
