Dubai is investing in increasing parks and tree-lined streets alongside urban development.

If you feel that Dubai has become a bit greener lately, it's not without reason.

The Dubai Municipality has announced that in just the first three months of 2026, nearly 300,000 square meters of new green space and landscaping have been added to the city; a project that is part of Dubai's larger plan to become a more sustainable and livable city.

According to published statistics, the total green space in Dubai has reached over 55.5 million square meters by the end of March; a figure that has seen significant growth compared to the end of last year.

City officials say the goal is not just to beautify the city. The development of parks, tree-lined streets, and green public spaces is intended to enhance the quality of life, moderate the city's temperature, and reduce pollution; an issue that is very important for Dubai residents, especially during the hot months of the year.

In recent years, green parks and boulevards have gradually become part of Dubai's visual identity; a city that is now striving to balance rapid urban growth with environmental goals.

The Dubai Municipality has also announced that tree planting projects, the development of public parks, and the expansion of green spaces along streets and highways will continue. According to this authority, modern and sustainable irrigation systems will be used in these projects, and residents will be encouraged to participate in tree planting programs.
