The totals are calculated by adding 5% tax only to the tuition fee of the driving school. For example, the 20-hour course equals 1,440 + 2,090 + 104.50 AED. This calculation does not confirm coverage of all file costs.
Before payment, get the final price in writing and clarify whether the eye examination, license issuance, number of exam attempts, and equipment are included in the package or charged separately. Also, inquire about additional class fees, retake exams, and class cancellation. Night classes and flexible schedules may have higher prices.
Registration Conditions and Documents
To register, prepare the original Emirates ID, the result of the eye examination at an approved center, and if available, the original foreign motorcycle license. If the license is not in English or Arabic, EDI will request a legal translation.
For residency issued from another emirate or certain job conditions, additional documents such as proof of residence, employment, or education in Dubai may be required. Before visiting, obtain a list of documents suitable for your case from the training center.
Steps to obtain a motorcycle license
1. Choose an RTA-approved training center and compare the final price, training location, and class start time.
2. Review documents, create or complete the driving file, undergo an eye examination, and obtain a training permit.
3. Complete the theoretical and practical training according to the course assigned to you.
4. Participate in the knowledge, yard, and road tests after completing the requirements of each stage.
5. Pay the necessary fees and receive the license after final approval.
If you have a UAE car license or a motorcycle license from another country, present it at the start of registration to determine the path for adding the motorcycle category or the appropriate course. Riding experience without a license does not exempt you from training.
Duration to obtain a license
20 hours of training does not mean obtaining the license in a few days. The total time depends on the session schedule, test appointments, and the possibility of needing additional training or retests. For planning, ask about the timing of the first class, the number of weekly sessions, and the usual interval from the end of training to the test before registering.
Iran motorcycle license and tourist conditions
If you are a resident of the UAE, direct conversion of a foreign license depends on the issuing country, nationality, license category, and RTA conditions. Do not assume that the Iranian license is automatically convertible. Present the original motorcycle license and its legal translation to check the possibility of accepting experience for a shorter course. Difference between electric scooter permit and motorcycle license
For standing electric scooters, a specific RTA permit is required. This permit is free, and citizens, residents, and tourists aged 16 and above can apply. Holders of UAE licenses, valid international licenses, or licenses from countries exempt from RTA conditions are exempt from separate permits according to the organization's conditions.
Other applicants must register their identity information and active UAE mobile number in the service "Apply for an Electrical Scooter Driving Permit," complete online training, and pass the exam. Tourists proceed through the application route with passport information.
Only ride the scooter on authorized paths, ride solo, wear a helmet and reflective vest, and cross at pedestrian crossings. The scooter license does not permit travel on all streets or the use of any electric wheelchair.
