In Dubai, if you have received a text message regarding the extension of unemployment insurance (ILOE), you may have noticed an important change: the only extension option is now for two years. This change helps employees avoid frequent reminders for renewal and allows them to pay for their insurance in advance to maintain uninterrupted coverage. Below is a guide for renewing ILOE insurance for two years and its key points. To renew ILOE insurance for two years, visit the ILOE website at www.iloe.ae and click on 'Subscribe/Renew Here'. Then, select your job category and enter your Emirates ID number and mobile number. Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent via SMS for verification. Once logged in, you will see a dashboard that includes the following: your insurance category, personal information, and the total premium amount for two years. For example, if you are in category A, the total cost will be approximately 126 dirhams for two years. After confirming your information, agree to the terms and conditions and proceed to the payment stage. Enter your credit or debit card information and click Pay. After a successful payment, you will receive a message confirming the receipt. Alternative payment methods: You can also pay your ILOE premium in cash by visiting 'Al Ansari Exchange' branches or the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation service centers (Tawjeeh and Tasjeel). What is ILOE insurance? This scheme provides financial security for employees who lose their jobs for reasons other than resignation or disciplinary actions. It offers eligible individuals monthly cash benefits of up to 60% of their basic salary (calculated from six months prior to unemployment). These benefits are payable for a maximum of three consecutive months each time, provided that the individual has paid the premium for at least 12 consecutive months. The subscription cost and compensation benefits of ILOE are as follows: Category A (basic salary of 16,000 dirhams or less): Premium of 5 dirhams + VAT per month and compensation of up to 10,000 dirhams per month, for a maximum of three months per claim. Category B (basic salary over 16,000 dirhams): Premium of 10 dirhams + VAT per month and compensation of up to 20,000 dirhams per month, for a maximum of three months per claim.
