A shipment can impact the lives of thousands before it reaches its destination. This time, the intelligence cooperation of Dubai Customs with international agencies led to the seizure of 1.3 tons of 'Tapentadol' pills before they entered the illegal markets of Africa.

According to reports from Emirati media, Dubai Customs, in collaboration with Interpol, the World Customs Organization, and regional information exchange offices, played a significant role in identifying and tracking this shipment. These pills were sent from Asia and were intended to reach smuggling networks in Africa.

Officials from the African country where the seizure operation took place stated that the information provided by Dubai Customs was crucial to the success of the operation and exemplified the importance of international cooperation in addressing common security threats.


 

Abdullah Bousnad, Director General of Dubai Customs, regarded this operation as a sign of Dubai's position as a reliable partner in global security and stated that investment in advanced technologies, development of human capabilities, and international cooperation are essential to combat transnational crime networks.

Dubai Customs has also emphasized that its role is no longer limited to protecting the borders of the UAE and has now become part of global efforts to combat drug trafficking and organized crime.
